Public Relations Coordinator
Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating PR and marketing efforts that support the Manhattan Public Library’s goals and services. Develop and implement publicity materials about library services and activities. Evaluate the effectiveness of publicity efforts and make recommendations. Primary responsibilities include the production and coordination of print materials, web content and social media. Provides content for writing press releases, newsletters, and newspaper articles. Communicate and maintain positive relations with library customers, partners and the community. Must have excellent communication, planning and organizational skills as well as experience with design for print and electronic media. Bachelor’s degree in public relations, design or related field with experience in a public relations role required.

Youth Services Library Assistant
Provides library service to all ages in the children’s room or teen area, including reader’s advisory. Performs clerical duties. Plans, presents and assists with youth programs or events year round. Requires computer skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a busy environment. College and library experience preferred; a minimum of at least one year experience working with children or one year library experience. This is a year round position that includes summer and all KSU semester breaks. Twenty-five hours per week. Schedule includes days, evenings and weekends. Custodian
Responsibilities include cleaning public and office areas, maintenance of grounds and building security. Requires the ability to bend, stoop, lift and move up to 50 pounds, use commercial cleaning equipment, follow directions, work independently and perform other maintenance tasks. Hours are Monday through Thursday 2-5 p.m., 12 hours per week. See application instructions below.

Computer Lab Assistant
Oversee patron use of public access computers, troubleshoot minor computer problems, assist customers and perform other operational tasks. Requires customer service experience, knowledge of computer software/hardware. Days, evenings, and weekends; 18 hours per week.
