Teen Services Librarian
We are looking for a dynamic individual to plan and present programs, events, and services for youth in grades 7 to 12. Responsibilities for this position include:
- Providing outstanding customer service to all ages, especially teens.
- Helping to maintain an engaging and attractive teen area.
- Administering the teen volunteer program.
You will be responsible for engaging teens with reading, learning, and the library – a positive and professional outlook is a must! This position is a part of the Teen & Adult Services department and will work closely with other members of the department. Manhattan Public Library is an innovative and customer-centered organization with a collaborative atmosphere.
Requires a master’s of library science from an (ALA) accredited university or progress towards completing an MLS, one year experience working with teens, one year library experience, and experience coordinating programs or events. This is a 40 hour/week position, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities for this position include: Accurately sorting and shelving library materials, providing quality customer service, assisting cooperatively with programs and events. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, six months customer service experience and must be at least 18 years old. Library experience preferred.
