Adult & Teen Services Librarian
Manhattan Public Library is seeking an Adult & Teen Services Librarian who is dedicated to enriching our library and community.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Planning and coordinating dynamic adult programming
- Providing outstanding customer service to all ages
- Coordinating and providing readers advisory service in person, through print materials, and through columns in local newspaper
- Providing technology education through teaching classes and one-on-one assistance at service desks
- General operation of the library in the absence of administration
- Participating in community outreach
- Assisting in collection development
Requires a passion for connecting the community with their next great read, an understanding of library ethics, technology skills, and instruction ability. This position is a part of the Adult & Teen Services department and will work closely with other members of the department. Manhattan Public Library is an innovative and customer-centered organization with a collaborative atmosphere, so the ability to communicate well and work with a team is a must.
Requires a master’s of library science from an (ALA) accredited university or a bachelor’s degree with progress towards completing an MLS and one year customer service experience. One year public library experience, and experience coordinating programs or events preferred. This is a 40 hour/week position, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Computer Lab Assistant
We are looking for an individual to provide outstanding customer service, troubleshoot minor computer problems, set up and disconnect technology equipment in meeting rooms, and perform other operational tasks in the Community Technology Center. This position requires customer service experience, knowledge of technology hardware & software, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Schedule includes evenings and weekends, 18 hours per week.
