Teen Volunteers

teen volunteers working in the libraryThe library is currently hiring a limited number of teen volunteers for the summer. Positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Teen volunteer positions will be open until filled.

Teen Volunteers earn community service hours and gain job experience by assisting library staff and helping to make the library a better place.  To be eligible, teens must be between the ages of 13 – 18, fill out a volunteer application, and complete a short interview.

What do teen volunteers do?

  • Work at children’s and teens’ summer reading prize desk during the summer.
  • Prepare storytime and club craft projects and handouts.
  • Help with storytimes and other Children’s Department events.
  • Straighten and dust shelves in the Children’s and YA areas.
  • Help keep the Children’s Room and Young Adult areas looking neat.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by library staff.
