Beat the Winter Blues with Reader’s Theater

With January almost finished, kids can start getting anxious to get outside and play. If your children need to release some extra energy, what better way than some Reader’s Theater?  Here are some great Reader’s Theater books available at the Manhattan Public Library:

Fables and Folklore Reader’s Theater by Dr. Margaret Allen

Silly Salamanders and Other Slightly Stupid Stuff for Readers Theatre by Anthony Fredricks

Acting Out Reader’s Theatre Across the Curriculum by Chris Gustafson

Simply Shakespeare: Readers Theatre for Young People by Jennifer Kroll

Children can put on a production and wow their audience with these simple scripts. Kids can make their productions as elaborate or simple as they like. They will get the satisfaction of seeing their ideas brought to life and learn all about hard work and dedication, and who knows, they may never want to leave the house again!
