Fairy Tales Readers Theatre by Anthony D. Fredericks

Fairy Tales Readers Theatre offers a fun new way to encourage your child’s reading skills.  Most kids love to pretend to be someone or something else, especially in front of a friendly audience.  Take their natural talent in a new direction by staging a simple fairy tale play at home.  This book offers 25 scripts ranging from two to four pages with parts for multiple readers.  There are hints for parents and educators about staging the scripts with simple props or costumes.  Readers theater reinforces reading skills in a fun, dramatic new way.  No memorization is required,  just lots of enthusiasm.  MPL has several good resources for scripts and hints, ranging from humorous fairy tales to stories about coping with life’s challenges.  Putting on a show for an appreciative audience of family and friends is a great way to spend a rainy or snowy afternoon.
